The Gobbler Motel

The Gobbler Motel, submitted by Me. For today's ALoD I thought I'd do something a bit different and on topic with horrible travel destinations. The site I am linking to isn't bad at all, it's the travel destination that they're covering that is horrible. The Gobbler Motel and Supper Club is the single most ill conceived motel in human history. I'm including the rape-themed motel in Louisiana and that murder hostel in Europe. Have you ever woken up and just felt a bit off? Like the whole world is being filtered through dirty grease? Well every day you wake up at the Gobbler Hotel would be a similarly disorienting and unpleasant mind-fuck. Each room is covered in hideous wall to wall carpet in colors like "embolism purple" and "arterial blood pink".

Yes, that is the same fabric we saw in the other rooms - very perceptive! Madge, who designed most of these rooms, used it to stunning effect here both as a window curtain and a ruffle. It's the "Harvest Bounty" pattern, and adds a traditional look to this very, very modern room.

Unfortunately for all of mankind, a recent search on Google brought me the sad news that the Gobbler was demolished earlier this year, leaving us only bad acid flashback-like brochures and a few haunting memories of a gruesomely psychadelic hotel located in the middle of fucking nowhere.
