Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne
Was Phileas Fogg rich? "Passepartout suits me," responded Mr. Fogg. "I agree with Mr. Fogg. "In eighty days," interrupted Phileas Fogg.
"Deal over again, then," said Phileas Fogg. "The unforeseen does not exist," quietly replied Phileas Fogg.
"Good," said Mr. Fogg. "This very evening," returned Phileas Fogg. Mr. Fogg repaired to his bedroom, and called out, "Passepartout!"
Passepartout did not reply. "Passepartout!" repeated Mr. Fogg, without raising his voice.
Passepartout made his appearance.
"Yes," returned Phileas Fogg. "In eighty days," responded Mr. Fogg. Mr. Fogg was quite ready. "What's the matter?" asked Mr. Fogg.
I've found the bank robber, Phileas Fogg. Fix, Detective.
Fix started off in search of Passepartout.
"In Africa!" repeated Passepartout. TO THE DESIGNS OF PHILEAS FOGG
What was Phileas Fogg doing all this time? "Fix."
"I shall go afoot," said Phileas Fogg.
"Save the woman, Mr. Fogg!"
"Sometimes," replied Phileas Fogg, quietly; "when I have the time."
"Excellent!" said Mr. Fogg.
"That is foreseen," replied Mr. Fogg. Passepartout and the guide stopped. "Stop," said Fogg. Sir Francis would have liked to read Phileas Fogg's eyes. Phileas Fogg had already determined this question.
"Good!" exclaimed Passepartout. Mr. Fogg betrayed no surprise whatever. "Phileas Fogg?" demanded Oysterpuff.
"I am here," replied Mr. Fogg.
"Passepartout?"
"Present," responded Passepartout.
"Bombay?" cried Passepartout.
"Admitted," replied Mr. Fogg, coldly.
Passepartout was stupefied. "Come!" said Phileas Fogg to his servant.
That Passepartout was not Fogg's accomplice, he was very certain. "Willingly, Monsieur Fix. Passepartout!"
"Parbleu!" said Passepartout, smiling.
Fix slipped one into Passepartout's hand. "I was, sir," replied Mr. Fogg coldly. "Well, pilot?" said Mr. Fogg.
"How?" asked Mr. Fogg.
Phileas Fogg was also thinking of Passepartout, who had so strangely disappeared. "Fire!" said Mr. Fogg. What will Mr. Fogg say? Mr. Fogg was not there. It was Passepartout's fault. Phileas Fogg could not imagine. "Perhaps," replied Mr. Fogg, simply.
"An English subject-" began Mr. Fogg.
"Phileas Fogg. Neither Mr. Fogg nor Fix cared to attend.
"Yes," replied Mr. Fogg; "but they pass."
"Six hours!" cried Passepartout.
"The devil!" muttered Passepartout.
Phileas Fogg was not as yet behind-hand.
"No," replied Mr. Fogg.
"Very well," said Mr. Fogg. "It would be perfectly so," replied Phileas Fogg.
"Very well," said Mr. Fogg, coldly. "Thanks, captain," said Mr. Fogg.
"Gone," replied Fix.
Phileas Fogg found himself twenty hours behind time. "On foot?" asked Mr. Fogg.
"The captain?" asked Mr. Fogg.
"I am Phileas Fogg, of London."
It was Phileas Fogg, Esquire. As for Passepartout, he thought Mr. Fogg's manoeuvre simply glorious. Passepartout was delighted. "I will consider," replied Mr. Fogg.
"Fogg."
Phileas Fogg was in prison. Phileas Fogg's eyes brightened for an instant.
Phileas Fogg was free! "Well hit!" cried Passepartout, "Parbleu! Phileas Fogg then ordered a special train.
"Please let me finish," returned Mr. Fogg. Yes; Phileas Fogg in person.
"Monday," replied Mr. Fogg.
"Dear Mr. Fogg!" said the young woman.
"Dear Aouda!" replied Phileas Fogg.
Mr. Fogg opened it, and asked, "What's the matter, Passepartout?"
Mr. Fogg quietly shut the door.
