• Revealing mistakes: Daragh O'Malley hated Sean Bean so much that he can frequently be caught in the background making throat-slitting gestures with his thumb during Bean's dialogue.
• Factual errors: French cavalry did not wear hats made from "the panties they cut from fallen ladies of Britain," nor did they forge their sabers from "the bones of Stewart kings."
• Plot holes: Sergeant Blaaargh could not have been "born out of a horrid tree" as described by Sgt. Harper during the tavern scene.
• Factual errors: Horse drawn carriages did not explode in balls of fire no matter how high the cliff.
• Miscellaneous: All of Napoleon's dialogue was spoken phonetically backwards and then reversed to give it an unearthly quality.
• Crew or equipment visible: The miniature of Major Sharpe is picked up and carried away by a cat in the middle of the first assault on Fort Attaboy.
• Anachronisms: The Brunnet cocking mechanism used by Sharpe on his "officer's rifle" was not introduced into service until 1816.
• Factual Errors: When Sharpe fires his under-barrel 40mm grenade launcher at the main gate he is obviously using an airburst fuzed fragmentation round, but the resulting smoke and flame more closely resemble a high explosive round.
• Revealing mistakes: When Sharpe is leading the Forlorn Hope up the ladders during the second assault a wide shot reveals that Fort Attaboy has been constructed in the carpark of a Tesco somewhere in Surrey.
• Continuity: In wide coverage Sharpe appears in blackface during the debriefing scene in Wellington's tent, but he clearly has no skin during the closeup coverage.
• Crew or equipment visible: When Major Ducos brings word to Napoleon that he has taken the piss pot you can see a young Vietnamese woman in contemporary dress waxing actor Ron Cook's taint.
• Anachronisms: Horses did not make car horn sounds until the late 1950s.
• Plot holes: In Ducos' "Trojan plot", Lord Dupree is poisoned and eaten by a wild horse secreted inside a gift-wrapped hatbox by Major Ducos.
• Incorrectly regarded as goofs: While bemoaning the loss of his treasured piss pot, Lord Wellington can be seen pissing his trousers. This was done intentionally by actor Hugh Fraser who felt that Wellington would have found "no home suitable" for his urine without the piss pot and would have simply allowed it to "fall as it pleases."
• Anachronisms: The Luftwaffe was not "subjecting London to constant bombardment" during the Napoleonic Wars, nor was Margaret Thatcher the King of England.
• Miscellaneous: While pleading with Major Ducos during the ambush scene a small rabbit is chased by a fox into actress Kate Winslet's mouth. She swallows the hare without interrupting her dialogue or seeming to notice.
• Plot holes: Sergeant Blaaargh could not have buttoned his top coat with a saber buried in his chest.
• Incorrectly regarded as goofs: While taking a bath actress Kate Winslet clearly has a third nipple between her breasts. When she later unbuttons her blouse in an unsuccessful attempt to seduce Sharpe she only has two nipples. This is possible if, during the intervening days, she abandoned a life of witchcraft and lost or killed her familiar.
• Anachronisms: Sharpe, when attending to the mortally wounded Private Eagers, calls for Harper to "get him to the CASEVAC" and Eagers is later seen being loaded onto a helicopter.
• Revealing mistakes: The entire cast and crew of the Emily Dickinson adaptation "Ass to Mouth POV Cumdrinkers 7" is visible filming in the background during the cannon attack scene.
• Continuity: Actor James Cromwell was filming "The Laserhook Incident" in the United States while Sharpe's Piss Pot was being filmed in Surrey.
• Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): In the tavern, Sergeant Blaaargh instructs a scarfed waitress to "bring [him] more Claret, Dr. Who" despite the fact that the waitress is obviously not any of the incarnations of Dr. Who.
• Revealing mistakes: Throughout the tavern scene several small children can be seen in the background laughing and urinating on the face of actor Arnold Hapscomb, who was later discovered to be in a diabetic coma.
• Factual errors: Napoleon was not a centaur.
• Miscellaneous: During the promenade sequence several officers can be seen collapsing under the weight of their gold braid. Director Clegg opted to leave this in as he thought it might have happened at some point and was "rather hilarious."
• Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Actor Sean Bean is obviously struck in the face by a boom microphone during the final assault on Fort Attaboy. There is no reason why a boom microphone could not have been fired from a French cannon.
• Continuity: Sgt. Harper's hair appears normal in the courtyard battle, moments after the fight on the ramparts where he had twigs, pieces of gum and an eagle's nest in his hair.
• Plot holes: Sergeant Blaaargh could not have discerned which woman was Tilda Knickers' mother so that he could attempt to rape her to death simply by staring into a gem.
• Revealing mistakes: Actress Kate Winslet's hand shatters like glass when she reaches for a quill to write a letter.
• Revealing mistakes: Several of the French soldiers manning the walls of Fort Attaboy are armed with Super Soakers.
• Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Sharpe never mentions or acknowledges the seven children he was so proud of siring in the previous installment of the series. It's possible that Major Sharpe is simply a gigantic cunt.
